Whew! Morgan and I returned from our jaunts to Northwestern U. and the University of Chicago unscathed but totally exhausted. Both awesome universities, but the weather was very uncooperative (wind, snow, rain). In light of such, my wonderful husband Brian insisted that we spend our one last 'nearly childless' day (our three boys have spent their spring break week at Grandma & Grandpa's) relaxing. I packed my Shootsac and we headed to quaint little downtown Lafayette where we meandered through shops and sat for hours in the Java Roaster coffee shop. While lounging in the loft there, Brian picked up my camera and said, "so how do you use this thing, anyway?" which gave way to light-hearted lessons on apeture, shutter speeds, etc. He was such a sport and allowed me to take dozens of shots of him while we sipped our coffees and laughed a lot. How refreshing!!--j

The Stephens' Collegiate tour begins!
For those trying to get ahold of me this week: I am off accompanying our eldest Morgan on the first official STOC (Stephens' Tour of Colleges)! Yes, our girl has her sites set on becoming a rockin' journalist, so we are perusing a few of the institutions which may help get her on that path. Yesterday was stop #1 at Indiana University in Bloomington. Tomorrow morning we head northward to Chicago to visit Northwestern and U of Chicago--with a little detour to the Majestic Theatre to catch a performance of Wicked and probably a bit of window-shopping to boot!
So, if you have sent me an email or left me a voicemail, please know you are not being ignored--I will get back in the saddle on Monday. -- janet
Easter fun
What a wonderful Easter weekend our family had! We attended a powerful Easter morning service with Grandma & Grandpa Stephens, then followed that up with a relaxing afternoon of egg hunting (even the older 'baggy-pantsed' boys got in on the fun) and cheering the underdogs in the NCAA tourney. Our daughter Morgan is taking the tracking of her picks very serious this year! Here she is checking out how she fared vs. the 'experts' in SI!

HHS Singin in the Rain
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Harrison's production of Singin' in the Rain this past weekend. Fabulous job done by one and all!
To view the layouts of the softcover collection of images book, watch the video included here. To order your own copy of the book, or to request one that can be customized to you, go to my website (www.thgphotography.com click on client proofing and enter the password singin08 Click favorite underneath any image and then go to the shopping basket located at bottom left of screen. Once in the shopping basket, use dropdown menu to choose option. If you are ordering the collection book as is, it does not matter which image you choose to navigate to the shopping basket--I will know it is the book you want, not necessarily that image. You can, of course, purchase individual printed images, a DVD of images, posters or a package of images there, as well.
Again, splendid job Harrison Thespians! My hat off to you all! -- janet

Mckenzie & Ross
Last weekend I had the privilege of working beside two magnificient photogs Megan Wynn and Geno to capture the chemistry of Mckenzie & Ross. What troopers they were, too! Megan, Geno & I were like junkies who couldn't put down our cameras--who could blame us?!
Congratulations, Mckenzie & Ross--may you be richly blessed together for many years to come!
