HHS Softball Senior Night

Sneaks and peeks from Senior Night at the Harrison softball diamonds.  What a night it was!  The Lady Raiders were steller on the  field and managed to upset #3 ranked Carmel.  Then what fun we had presenting gifts to the senior ladies and enjoying some wonderful cake (thanks Mrs. Mitchell!) and sundaes.

Brooke and Coach Mike had a little extra fun with their dessert!

Good look, Coach Mike Willis!!

Modern Day David & Goliath--Harrison defeats HSE!

As the regular season begins to wind down, the Harrison Lady Raiders are really heating things up!  Tuesday evening they put on the bat power in the seventh and mounted a come from behind attack to beat the #3 ranked Lady Royals of Hamilton Southeastern!  The win was clinched when Megan Mitchell saw a crack in the Royal's armour and dove head first into home, stealing the bag and posting the win!   Congratulations, Raiders!

Senior Lisa Cappa spurring  her teammates on during the battle

JV Player Rosalie Townsley looks on hoping the varsity can duplicate the JV's victorious efforts

HSE's pitcher and catcher look a bit dejected as the Raiders pump up--it's the bottom of the 7th with two outs--all tied up at 2--but heavy hitter Megan Mitchell has just pounded out a triple to tie the game (scoring Ashley Courtney) and is poised to score on third base.

HHS Softball v. West Lafayette

The Lady Raiders were back in action on Monday evening--this time it would result in a 6-0 shutout against West Lafayette.  Way to go, Raiders!

Senior Courtney Garrity successfully dives for a ball in left field.

Riley Lerch stymied the West Lafayette ladies making three beautiful snags in right field--including an awesome reaching catch of a foul ball to finish the game!

Second baseman Lisa Cappa proving her 'mad skills'--you should see what she can do with her eyes open!!

Taking the post at third base for this one, Ashley Courtney helps the Raiders keep control throughout the evening.

Senior Loren Clark steps up to the plate for the Raiders.

Meet Drew

This is Drew...senior extraordinaire at Harrison.  He is a man of many talents:  athlete, actor, journalist just to name a few.  We met at Civic Theatre in Lafayette and utilized the areas inside and out to capture a few images for his senior shoot.

HHS Softball v. Avon

Well, our beloved Lady Raiders apparently forgot to bring their bats with them last night in the contest against Avon.  It was a nail-biter (Avon leading 1-0) until the seventh inning when they padded their lead to 4.  A solid single hit by Lisa Cappa in the bottom of the seventh ruined Avon pitcher Jenny Esparza's perfect game, but it was too little, too late for the Raiders who then saw no other hits and were on the short end of a 4-0 score.

Next time, ladies, next time....

Haley Baker bringin' one in from right field in the seventh

Haley Baker and Jordyn Garrett collide but do indeed catch the ball in right-center

Our Rowdy Raider Crew having a bit of fun with Avon's left-fielder

Megan Huston receives the ball from the pitcher and makes the out at first

Amy Rowdon looks to put down the bunt

Morgan Stephens on the mound (well, in softball there is no mound, but you know what it means) for the Raiders

Jordyn Garrett out in center

The outfield powering up

Fans watch intently as Ashlee, Morgan & Ashley collide--all calling so loudly for the ball they couldn't hear each other calling as well!
