Logan -- Senior '09

Meet Logan -- a Harrison High School senior (alright, now alumni). Logan's year was so packed that he didn't get around to getting senior pics done until after all his senior activities came to a close. That's alright, because we had a fabulous time together and here is a few of the images from our afternoon.

Logan was the captain of the award-winning Harrison Robotics team. There is an unbelievable amount of time, energy and ingenuity put into these robots -- absolutley amazing! And the work of Logan and his teammates paid off as they participated in the National Championships in Atlanta, GA (the same weekend as Prom -- crazy!!)

This is a guy whose got both brains and brawn -- beyond his work in robotics, Logan played for the Harrison Raider football team. There are a couple opposing team players who are probably still smartin' from the sacks he put on them!!

Outside the school walls, Logan faithfully serves his parish -- St. Mary's Catholic Church obviously holds a special place in his heart, so we had to grab a few shots there.

What's with the bare feet, you ask? It could be a symbol of the dedicated sense of service that Logan feels towards his fellow man--symbolism taken from the recounting of Jesus' washing of the feet of His disciples. That would be really deep, wouldn't it?! Very cool. And yet, although I by no means doubt Logan's commitment to serve the Church and his fellow man, the reality is: this boy simply forgot his shoes!! Too funny -- we just decided to roll with it!

Congratulations, Logan on both your successes in robotics & athletics and your graduation. Onward and upward, man!

Cory's Sneak Peek

Oooohhh, 2009 Graduation is approaching very quickly here in Tippecanoe County and here at THG I am still getting the opportunity to work with some fabulous young people who are about to make that grand leap outside the realm of high school.  Some have vague ideas of where they are going, others have no idea -- and then there is Cory -- this man has a vision and a plan!! And I can tell you with certainty -- after spending one long, rainy afternoon with this guy -- he was indeed created to do great things and will do them!!!

Did I mention the rain -- the rain that wouldn't stop -- the rain that Cory was willing to endure to get in some great shots.  Yeah, this guy was an awesome sport about it all -- thanks, Cory!!

Here's a small taste of what's to come:

Heeeeeeeeere's Alex!

What do you get when you put together an athlete, a scholar and a statesman, add in a heaping dose of humor and a healthy portion of creative thinking? In this case you get a "who" not a "what" -- and that "who" is Alex!

I had the honor of capturing just a bit of that incredible personality (and stunning blue eyes to boot!!) last week as Alex's senior year at Harrison draws to a close.  Although there is much work to do yet with his varied collection of images, here's a quick sneak peek -- just a little taste of what's to come!

Enjoy!

Keep your eyes out for this guy (I'm getting him to autograph some images for me--retirement plan, you know!) -- he is definitely one who will make a mark on this world!

Morgan -- Senior 09

Here's my beautiful senior lady Morgan!  I can hardly believe my daughter is almost finished with high school and will soon be moving several states away to college!

Well, we just had to take the opportunity to get out and get a few images with fresh snow on the ground.  Of course this may have been the speediest set I have ever shot--it was freezing and we both had snow in our shoes!

Yes, she can be as much of an imp as she appears in this shot!

Senior Announcements & Invitations

Just after we get the Christmas cards in the mail, for high school seniors and their parents it's time to start thinking about graduation and open house announcements.  Here at THG we love to create custom cards for seniors that not only convey the information necessary (dates, times, places) but reflect their personalities.

Here are a few examples of what we have created for our special seniors over this past year:

Matt --Senior 09

I love my job because I love working with guys like Matt!  He was so adventuresome and willing to try just about anything. Obviously well versed at climbing--he climbed fallen trees and up into box cars for this shoot!   I think by the time we were done he realized he is much more like a model than he had ever thought before!  He has style, flair and charisma and is jut too dag-gone cute!

Matt, here's a peek at what's to come:

Ben -- Senior 09

After  a morning where it seemed everything was going against the odds of getting this shoot done (touch of the flu, showing up at the wrong house) I finally got together with Ben and boy, was it worth it!  Ben is a senior at Harrison -- he is stong, handsome, smart, funny, a family guy and just an all-around nice guy!  Ladies, you should be lining up for this one--alas, rumor is, he's taken!

Ben & I utilized the beautiful grounds of his home, the big brown eyes of his dog Jake (who you will meet later) and then ventured over to Harrison to capture him both by the school itself and down in the football stadium where he has spent many a Friday night.  (sidenote:  Ben and the Raider football team are vying for the sectional championship tonight!  Go Raiders!!)

Thanks for being such a trooper, Ben.  Here's a "sneak peek" of what's to come:

Anna -- Senior 09

Oh my!  How I love it when someone with a dramatic look winds up in front of my lens!  What a beautiful and dramatic young woman Anna is!!  And yet coupled with all that strength is a tenderness that oozed from her as she interacted with her horse Zippy.  We had some more giggly moments to--full of smiles which we will see more of when the whole set is complete--but I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to share these dramatic shots.

A big thank you goes out to the Wild About Horses Aquestrian Center  in West Point, IN for allowing us bring Zippy out and shoot at their picturesque location!  Pam, if you're ever looking for a job as a photo assistant, you're hired!!
